A newborn is usually a baby under six weeks old. The first 14 days are the preferred time for sleepy, curled newborn portraits, although sessions can still work later within the six-week window.
I bring professional lighting, wraps, props, selected outfits and backdrops to your home. If you are expecting, ask about reserving a due-date window. If your baby has arrived, send their age and the dates you are considering.
From about six weeks to four or five months, baby photography focuses on awake portraits, expressions, eye contact and the personality beginning to appear.
From roughly five or six months to around ten months, a sitter session works well once your baby can sit comfortably, with support if needed. The £400, £500 and £600 package prices are the same for newborn, younger-baby and sitter sessions.
For families with older children, the black and white session focuses on simple portraits, personality and connection. It is separate from the newborn setup and can take place at home or outdoors.
